Birthday Wishlist!!!

Hey Lovelies!

So, I know today is Wednesday and all, but because my birthday is only a week away I decided to make a wishlist.  This is just for fun and some of the things I am including are things I need, others are just things I want, and some of these things are for my goals during this year.

Note: This is only a formality, my birthday present is a family trip to an undecided local.

1. New Bible.
My Bible is currently quite old, the cover is broken, it has a lot of distracting side notes (they were published into the text) and I would like a new one.  Hopefully I new Bible will allow me to better my relationship with God and will help me with my prayer journal.

2. Office Supplies.
I love them, what can I say.  Maybe some sharpie pens, a new {cute} planner, post-its, etc.

3. Sewing Machine.
What? A sewing machine.  Yes.  My sewing machine has been broken for years and I really want to start making my own clothes.  There is a specific one I would like, but I know that my grandmother would like to send me her old one.  I just want a sewing machine that can facilitate my love for fashion.

4. Phone Case.
This is quite obvious, I need a case for my new phone.  Its getting scratched and ruined, and I need to protect it.

5. Books.
I will read almost anything.  I do have some books on my goodreads account, but I haven't updated that in a while.  Quick Question: Are spiritual/life books good or not forth my time?

6. Clothes.
Every girl needs new clothes.  Workout clothes, dressy clothes, casual clothes, you name it I need it.  {Including shoes, who doesn't love shoes?}

7. Sketch Pad.
For a while I have been doodling some sketches of my designs on printer paper, and they usually get lost in my schoolwork, or someone throws them away.  I would like a professional sketch book to contain my sketches and help me.

8. Job or Service Location.
Yeah, everybody wants a job.  But, as I am getting older, my parents have less to spend on me while my expenses go up.  It wouldn't be too shabby to have a part-time job where I can earn a couple dollars.  As for the service location, I really want to find a place or organization that I contribute my time to.  Some examples would be a museum, old people home {he he}, or even a local organization.

extras: electric toothbrush, new yoga mat, 5-3 lb weights, slippers, purse, knitting supplies, IPad {don't judge me}, trip to Paris {again stop judging me}, sunglasses, beats, locket necklace, and all the cute and girly things on my Pinterest!

I know that for some people this may not seem like much, and some might get a trip and multiple presents, some of you might be content with some socks {I don't know...}.  But this is just something I do every year, even when I know what I am getting.  In my family, we get one gift and that is all.

The reason I didn't specify anything, or include pics is because I know none of this is coming my way, and like I said, its just something my sisters and I do every year.

What is on your wishlist this year? Leave it in the comments below.

Stress!

Hi Lovelies!

Sorry that I didn't post anything this past week.  I have been super stressed and have been put under lots of pressure over the past couple of days.

My life has taken a turn, maybe for the better, maybe for the worst.

My birthday is in only 11 days away, I have a ton of exams and quizzes, I must study for my permit test, and I have lots of things to do at home.  But, even though my last post about organizing my desk, I actually began that post almost a week ago.  From that time, I redid my desk again to fit my new standards and I am trying to work my life out.

Hopefully I can make a new schedule to suit my life.

If you are stressed like myself, I know that I get the worst anxiety attacks and I BAWL out crying.  But we have to focus on the end goal.  For me, its finishing the school year with grades that will bump up my standing in my class.  Take it from someone who has experienced stress first hand, you have to take things one step at a time and find your groove.  Be patient and let life be.

Hopefully, I can make more posts for you guys soon!

Have a great day.

xoxo, Ana

Desk Tour

Hello Lovelies!

I know you are probably wondering why this would ever be an interesting post, but I always wonder what people keep on/in their desks.  Personally, I am an organizational freak and I am still trying to find ways in which I can organize my desk and use it to its fullest potential.

Like I said, I am still trying to work out my organizational setup, but for now this is how I will be how my desk is organized.

The first picture is before I organized anything.  Bear with me, it was a long week and I still had clothing to put away, textbooks laying around, and a HUGE mess.

BEFORE
After I finally got myself under control this is my desk and I even decided to go inside the drawers, since I organized those as well.  Here ya go!

AFTER

1. I usually keep textbooks, calendar stickers and notebooks here. // 2. This is my main work space. // 3. Here is my flower pot with DIY Flower pens, and highlighters are hidden as well.  This shelf also has my everyday jewelry and my glasses. // 4. I have my jewelry box, hand creme, lip balm, and glass cleaner. // 5. This is the quilling frame from my grandpa {its a lilac dress} and my motivation board. // 6. My favorite award, memory jar, some perfumes, and embellishments in the middle. // 7. Makeup & Hair stuffz!!! // 8. I have a whiteboard with some motivational quotes, and a caricature of me as well as some pictures. // 9. This Eiffel Tower lamp is from dollar general and also functions as an organizer for my chords.

1. Notepads and some index cards with notes as well as a calculator and wet ones. // 2. Here I have my rainbow pouch I made, yellow pads, a letter, and my 'I Fell a Shopping Spree Coming On' polka dot folder. // 3. This is my drawer organizer with simple things like paper clips, sharpeners, glue, tabs, sticky notes, pens, pencils, etc.  In the back I have a towel. // 4. This section holds a mirror, headphones, washi tape, white out, cloth, tweezers, hand sanitizer, and a hole punch

1. Lots and lots of index cards. // 2. Basic things like: notebook, highlighters, cell phone pouch, lint sheets, and my scissors. // 3. Extra paper clips, page holders, and my rosary is behind the index cards. // 4. Underneath my glasses case is s copy of the constitution and some bookmarks. // 5. Back there I keep extra small books that people give me {I also get them on birthdays and as thank yous} as well as some large tabs and an index card holder.

1. This part is still not fully done, but I have textbooks, folders, clipboards, random papers, and some awards here. // 2.  In this skinny section I usually store my keyboard and mouse for my laptop, but it was in another room at the moment. // 3. The uppermost shelf on my desk is mainly used for my computer when I am not using it.  {Sometimes I put papers there when I have lots of clutter}

Hopefully you ladies were able to get some organizational tips or maybe you just like to see what is in someone's desk.  I know I have lots of stuff on my desk, but I share a room and it is my only space to myself that I can have total freedom with.

If you have any tips/ tricks or just have comments make sure to leave them down below.  Also, I would appreciate if you would give me any suggestions on improving my blog (be gentle, I am just starting out :o)

Have a fabulous day!

Quick Question: French

Hi lovelies!

I know no one really reads my blog, but if in a future where someone happens to cross paths I have a quick question:

Do you know any french textbooks or easy guides for learning the language?  I already have the basics because I took a class for a year, but I don't want to take classes because I feel like I don't learn as much.

Maybe you guys know a better way to learn a new language? Let me know if you do!

Merci beaucoup! Au revoir.

Macarons!

Hey Lovelies!

Today, I had quite a lazy day.  But I anticipate that after this blog post I will be doing lots in the following 4 hours.  As part of my lazy day, my family asked if I could make macarons again.

I had made macarons once before and they came out nice.  These cookies are extremely hard to make and take lots of effort.  For a teenager with absolutely no baking experience, these French delights came out great.  Last time, I used the Popsugar recipe, this time my sisters made another recipe while I focused on the macarons.

As stated before, these cookies are hard to make.  Some of mine came out cracked, non-circular, and they didn't all have the little feet (ridges at the bottom of the cookie), plus some of them stuck to the parchment paper.  Otherwise, they tasted like vanilla-almond-goodness and some of them actually were almost perfect. I am really proud of myself because my older sister was always the one in charge of baking and she always put me down about not being able to work in the kitchen environment.

Here are some pictures of my baking adventure:

{I need to work on making them circles}

Buttercream filled macaron. Yum!

{Excuse my tired face, it's been a long two days}
Hopefully next time I will be able to give you all some tips on how to make macarons, but I am still trying to figure them out myself.  If you have any tips or are planning on making your own cookies don't hesitate to let me know in the comments below.  Next time I will experiment a bit more and maybe add some fruits or a cocoa to make different varieties.  What would you guys recommend?

Fitness: Motivation Board

Hi Lovelies!

My day has consisted of getting myself back on track today.  I have really felt like this year my goals have not been accomplished and I have been really stressed lately.  So, I took the day off and focused on cleaning, getting stuff done, organizing, etc. I still have lots to do.

Anyways, I wanted to show you guys one of the simplest ideas to get you encourage and motivate you to meet your fitness goals.  Or any other goal for that matter.

This is a MOTIVATION BOARD!!!

I first got this idea from a post on pinterest.  It is was a simple dry erase board with quotes and motivational ideas, reminders, etc.  For me, my goal was to be in the habit of eating well and living a healthy lifestyle by my birthday.  {I can't believe its only 18 days away!}

This is my motivation board:

Super inexpensive (I got the board at the dollar store!), super chic, and super easy.  Anyone can accomplish this and if you can customize this to suit your needs.  If losing weight is your goal, you can track the pounds, if you want to include a calender, you can do this as well.

If you make your own motivation board make sure to let me know in the comments below.  I hope you have a fabulous day!

xoxo, Ana

Work It Wednesdays: Essentials

Hi Lovelies!

You are probably wondering what Work It Wednesdays means.  It means that Wednesdays are going to be my fashion days.  So, I will be posting something related to fashion, clothing, shoes, etc.

Today I want to talk about Fashion Essentials, the basics.  A lot of these items are items that I think are good to have all year round.

1.  A black or creme cardigan.  This is super important because cardigans can dress up or dress down an outfit and they keep you warm without making you look like you just don't care.  Personally, I am lacking a good, comfortable but cute cardigan, but here are some examples:

Macy's: Deep Black Cardigan $24.98

2. Fitted Jeans. Being 4'11'' it is really hard for me to find some jeans.  But, eventually we can all find some good fitted jeans.  I am not going to show any specific examples because everyone is different in terms of body types and something fitted.  I would recommend that you get your jeans tailored if necessary.

3. A neutral, small, everyday bag.  This might seem a bit odd, but I think this is a must.  Unless you are a mother, or someone with an excessive amount of things to carry, a small everyday bag is a must have!  There are so many choices, from kate spade to small bags at target.  An everyday bag should go with almost anything, but shouldn't be too small either.

Merona® Zip Closure Satchel - Brown
Target: Merona Zip Closure Satchel $17.48

4. Pearls.  Pearl earrings, bracelets, necklaces, watches.  I love pearls but a good alternative is just rhinestones.  Either way, these are essentially essentials.  Every classy girl needs a pair of real pearl earrings or pearl necklace.  If you don't like pearls, find some swarovski earrings.  They are simple, but elegant and will complete almost any outfit.

5. Smile! :D Because there is nothing more beautiful than the natural beauty that is in all of us.  This might sound really bad, but smiling is not only good for you, but it is your best accessory.  No one can take this away from you.  You will be more approachable and you will feel more confident with a grin across your face.

Featuring: an old picture of me with long hair!

I hope you guys enjoyed my first edition of Work It Wednesdays.  I know that there are a lot of other clothing items deemed essentials such as a blazer, plain white tee, and some everyday shoes, but these are probably my top five essentials. {Don't get me wrong, I don't own 2/5 things on the list, but they are on my wish list for this year.}

Have a fabulous day!

xoxo,  Ana

Long Time No Chat

Hello Lovelies!

Long time since I last posted, I know.

I just wanted to let you guys know that my fresh start didn't exactly begin January 1st.  Last night, I suddenly got a jolt of energy and I am prepared to do almost anything to get my life back on track.

So, instead of using the new years resolutions I originally made, which were 50 crazy things, I am limiting my list to 5, only 5 things.
My goals for 2014 are to:

1. Help out in my community more often.
2. Make healthier lifestyle choices.
3. Pray more, worry less.
4. Work hard at everything I do.
5. Be a better person to myself and those around me.

Simple, short, and to the point. That's what I would prefer, because my other list was just little changes that I wanted to do in my life, and for the past several weeks it has been overwhelming me.  Hopefully I can continue my blog and live my school and personal life as well.

I don't want to become as famous as The College Prepster, but a lot of my inspiration does come from her and hopefully one day I can be as smart, classy, and stylish as she is.

xoxo, - Ana -
