Work It Wednesday: Running Jacket

Hey Lovelies!

Today I have a short post for you guys.  So, I have been wanting a track jacket for a while now.  I came home one day and this beauty was on my chair!

This track jacket is from Danskin Now.  I love this as a casual everyday wear.  It has the thumb holes {tbh: I was most excited for thumb holes!}, pockets, and a hot pink lined hood.

It is lightweight, but still warm for the colder seasons.  I haven't decided if I want to use this specifically for exercise or for casual use... I am still debating.

The best part is that it was on sale and my mom got it for only $7!!!! What? I know, super affordable.  Not only is it comfortable, adorable, useful and something I have wanted for a while now, but it because winter is practically over, it was super inexpensive.

Speaking of saving money, I am debating buying clothes for Washington.  I still am not entirely sure, I might save my money.  I have had lots of expenses lately, and until summer I can't really get a job, so for now I am leaning towards saving my $$$.

I hope you guys enjoyed this quick fashion find {I don't know what to call it}  and have a wonderful day!

xoxo, Ana

P.S. - Have you guys visited Kalel is super cute and has such amazing style!!! I love shabby chic like just like her.  Don't worry, I don't know her personally I just really love her style and thought I would direct you guys toward her page!

Sensationail Review

Hey Lovelies!

This past week I was really excited to work on a cool blog post for you guys.  Since it was my birthday I decided to treat myself to a manicure.

My favorite manicure has always the french manicure.  It is sleek, sophisticated, and classy.  But, this manicure chips super quickly due to the large amounts of polish at the front of the nail.  Therefore, I decided to try the Sensationail gel french manicure.  I love their gel colors and thought that I would get the same results: two weeks of damage proof, shiny, spectacular nails.

I have been disappointed.  Don't get me wrong, I love their gel nail color and it lasted through swimming pools, washing bathrooms, and crafts.  I was really surprised by the results I got using the french manicure set.

Maybe I did something wrong, or it was just getting old {I bought this kit summer 2013}.  Here was my experience:

~ Day 1 ~
The nail polish was easy to apply and set well on the nails.  I didn't apply the color because I felt like it just looked like my natural nail.  The strips were tricky at first, but eventually I got the hang of it and did all my nails.  At the end of applying the top coat, my nails were dry, shiny, and gorgeous! Here are some pictures:

~ Day 2 ~
The nail polish stayed on quite well throughout the day.  No damage was done, they were perfect.

~ Day 3 ~
I got some minor chipping, but I just thought I had left that area of the nail without top coat.  It was mainly on the corners and tips of my nails.  I made sure to cap all of them and seal the tips in, so I got a bit confused as to why they were chipping.

~ Day 4 ~
This is when I started noticing that parts of the white tips were actually cracking off my nails.  I hadn't done anything like wash dishes, or put harsh strain on them.

~ Day 5 ~
The white parts of a lot of the nails started peeling off.  Just coming off.  One moment I looked at a good nail, the next the white part was gone.  What?  Yeah.  The top coat below the white strips stayed on as well as the base coat underneath them.  I am really disappointed at this point because I wanted them to last for another week.  This is at the end of day five:

You can definitely see the nails ruined and some even have only half the white strip left.  This really disappointed me because I have tried their products before and other then removal, they were a breeze.

I hope that this helps you guys if you were thinking about buying the french tip kit.  Like I said I totally recommend the gel colors, but this product didn't really work out for me.

Have a great day!

xoxo, Ana

Disclaimer: I was not contacted by the company.  All opinions are my own, I bought the product with my own money.  :D

My Birthday!

Hello Lovelies!

If you have read my blog before, you would know that I have been super excited for my birthday for a long time.  It was actually my Quinces on Febuary 5.Y ay}  (Quinces are like the Spanish version of a Sweet 16, girls typically have a big party with friends and family to celebrate becoming a woman.)

As I told you all before, I don't usually get any presents other than my main, big gift.  This year my big gift was a trip to Washington D.C. {It is one of my favorite places!}  But my parents surprised me this year with some cool presents to celebrate my becoming a mature young lady.

Other than the presents I got a super adorable cake specialty made.  It had a lilac fondant bow, with lilac polka dots,  almond frosting, and a vanilla rum cake!  This cake was gorgeous, tasted great, and, best part is, I didn't even choose the design.  My mom got me the perfectest (is that even a word?) cake ever!!!

As for the day of my birthday, it went pretty well.  I got sung happy birthday twice, I felt really good about my AP test and it was an overall good day.

What my parents got me as a surprise shows: A. they read my blog B. they know me well and C. they are awesome parents.  Here are some pics of what I got:

I got a large sketch pad with a tin of
sketching pencils and graphite sticks.
My mom got me yoga
pants and a case for my phone.
I know that this isn't much for some people, but I didn't expect to get anything.

I am so grateful for everything I have, my family, friends, and the life that God has given me these past fifteen years of my life.  He has given me so much and blessed me with the grace of so many amazing people.  I pray that this year is even better than the last and that I am able to continue progressing and learning.  My goal this year to fix myself up into a classy young woman that has the confidence to rule the world {or at least high school}.

I hope that you guys enjoyed this post and remember, each day is a new day and each day is a new birthday.  So happy birthday, you are a day older and a day wiser than yesterday!

xoxo, Ana

P.S. - I am saving up for clothes for Washington, any tips on what to get?

Disclaimer:  I am not trying to brag at all, I am just sharing my birthday with you guys. :D

Prayer Journal

Hi lovelies!

Ever since my birthday I have really been working on getting myself back on track.  This pretty much means my health, religious, school, and personal life have been over viewed and I am making some changes {for the better}.  This has included doing more exercise (the motivation board really helped, but I only had 15 minutes some days), eating healthier, stopping procrastination on schoolwork, working on my self esteem, and overall trying to improve what is already here.

For me, one of the most important aspects in my life is religion.   So, I decided to start a prayer journal.  Due to my lack of time, I haven't been praying as much or as "in depth" as I used to.  I used to have great communication with the Lord, and recently it hasn't been as great.

A prayer journal is not just where you write down your prayer, at least not for me.  It is somewhere where I write down how I feel and to really try and improve my relationship with God.  But it can be anything you want to be, maybe just a journal, or even where you study the bible.

This is a way to connect with God and help yourself to overcome any obstacles that are moving you in the wrong direction.

Personally, if my spiritual life is going good, then the rest of my life falls in line.

Here is my prayer book.

I keep my prayer book on the top shelf of my desk.

In the front I keep prayers and cards
given to me at church, just as a reminder.

I always keep my rosary next to it.
Very important!

I hope this inspires you guys to begin a prayer book!  Let me know if you have one or plan to do something like this.

xoxo, Ana

Fitness: Food Tracker?

Hey lovelies!

So over the past couple of days, I have been quite the busy bee.  This has really deteriorated my "healthy lifestyle" goal.  I haven't been paying much attention to my overall health, or to anything but school really.

I am going to try something that I used to do religiously, but since I got busy I stopped doing this. {I had to give up lots of things to focus on school. :( } So this thing that I was doing for several months is a food tracker.  There are a lot of names for it, but it is just where you can write down what you eat.

Some people do this on their phones, I like to keep a notebook, it is very flexible.  The overall concept is that you write down everything you ate, this allows you to visualize the changes you can make in your diet in order to live a healthier life.

Since I have done this before I decided to gibe you guys some tips and tricks to this a food tracker:

~ 1 ~
Write down everything!  We all have had this slice of cake (or two), we have all had those greasy fries, we have all had eaten unhealthy foods.  Don't cheat yourself by not writing down what you ate.  This is for you to improve, not to judge yourself on what you can't change.  The damage is done.

~ 2 ~
Don't show your notebook to anyone.  It seems harsh, but someone might judge you, or try to give you advice, or try and make fun of what you eat.  This is something personal and something that is helping you, not anyone else.

~ 3 ~
Include your exercise regimen.  This is going to allow you to either see what you are doing wrong, or allow you to track your progress.  How do you know you are doing something wrong?  You eat a doughnut after a really harsh workout.  How can you track your progress?  If you stay committed to your tracker you can look back and see how you used to walk a mile, now you run two miles, for example.  You can really see the impact your diet has on your physical well being.

I hope that this post will encourage you guys to start a journal, I know that physically seeing what I ate really aided me and acted as a guide to how bad my diet really was.  We need to remember that before helping anyone else we must help ourselves first.  Don't try and eat almost nothing, this should help you better portion your meals and allow you to make better choices.

Today is February 6, and in two weeks, February 20, I will give you guys an update as to how I have been doing with my food tracker that I will be starting tomorrow.

Have a healthy day!

xoxo, Ana

P.S. - Yesterday was my birthday {Finally 15!} and I will be doing a post on my day and also what I got.

Tuesday, February 4, 2014

Hey lovelies.

I know I haven't been posting lately and half of my post are updates that make no sense considering I have no other post.  Anyway, I have been really busy lately.  Not to mention that my procrastination skills are at a level so high, I could be the champion of procrastination!

My life is kind of in a mess {My room isn't clean, I have a TON of schoolwork, my "healthy lifestyle" is nonexistent, and I barley have time to even appreciate what I have.}  I haven't been succeeding with my goals, I have become a person that I have always despised and I am working with myself to get my life back on track and set myself straight.

Don't worry, I have lots of posts planned for you guys including one I am currently working on. Hint: it involves nails, more fitness, an outfit post, sketching post, and more! (get excited)

It may seam like I am being very snobbish and I am always complaing about how stressful and time consuming my life is, but I don't want to give my blog up.  It is one thing I want to accomplish this entire year.
Sorry for my inconsistent ways recently, but I promise that I will get myself together.

xoxo, Ana

P.S. - Tomorrow is my Birthday!!! YAY!
