March Favorites

Hello Lovelies!

Today is a really exciting post!  I cannot believe it is almost April and {to be completely honest} I am really glad that March is behind me.  This has been a month of many personal lows and highs, but that made for a lot of really cool new favorites!  Without further ado, my March favorites.

I have been loving the cute little post its, notebooks, and notepads from the Target Dollar Spot.  They are adorable and super useful for organizing everyday things, especially for students such as myself.  These are from an upcoming post. ;D

ELF Contouring Blush and Bronzer Duo

This is another product from an upcoming post {spring break let me get really ahead on blogging}, but it is still a fav.  I have been looking for a good, inexpensive bronzer and blush.  When I found this duo I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Pandora

I love listening to music.  This handy little app has been a great help for me, it is easy and I don't have to think about it because I know that it will play music that I enjoy.

New Car: Hyundai Elantra

This month my parents surprised my older sister and I with a brand new car!  It was an amazing gift that I am extremely grateful for.  Driving her is a breeze and gives me more time to practice my skills so that son my parents will allow me to drive on my own.

If you don't see by the picture, she is absolutely gorgeous!  Meg is an amazing example and her relationship with Anthony {the guy in the picture below} is a model relationship.  Not only are her tutorials amazing and her style impeccable but her vlogs are the best.

Target Haul!

Hi Lovelies!

I have recently gone on a few shopping trips to Target {and I'm going back tomorrow} to buy some things to upgrade my Spring wardrobe.  To be honest, my goal is to redo my entire closet, but until that happens I will just continue slowly buying things to make my current closet stand out a bit more.  So I wanted to share what I got!  I won't show everything, just because they will be featured in other blog posts coming soon.

Hydrate Yourself

Hey Lovelies!

Today I have a really important message about your health, an aspect that many people neglect to pay attention to: hydrating yourself.

According to a report by CBS, 75% of Americans may be dehydrated.  More likely than not, that number includes you, the reader of this post.  Water makes up a large amount of the human body and it is necessary for many of our bodily processes.

But this does not mean that you cannot change your habits.  It is not easy to change bad habits, but it is the first step to living a much healthier and fulfilled life.  Water is such a simple, abundant aspect of everyday life that many people do not take advantage of.  Especially in America, many people do not realize that we have such a blessing for having clean, available water.

Considering I used to drink barely one cup of water a day, I have worked a lot to increase my intake of water on the daily.  So I wanted to share with all you what I did over the past year to drink more water.

Have Water On Hand

When I started to decide to consume more water, the first thing I did was buy myself a really cute water bottle.  It came with me everywhere and it was a commitment I had to make.  When you do this, it ensures that you always remember constantly and always have access to it.

Wake Up and Drink

A great way to get lots of water into your body is to drink a whole bottle of water the moment you wake up.  This is a very important step that gives you a great start to your day.

Water = Energy

Many people drink caffeinated drinks in order to boost themselves up.  But those drinks actually sucks up all of your water supply and can hurt you more than help.  I'm not saying that a cup of joe is a bad idea every once in a while, but it is important to note the impact that water has on our energy levels as well.

Substitute Bad Drinks

We all know about those "bad drinks."  Sodas, juice, etc. all of those sugary drinks that do not add much nutritional value.  Just like coffee, these are not bad as long as they are kept at a minimum.  The problem results from when people excessively drink these.  So whenever you can, substitute those drinks do so.

I hope this helps you guys out because I definetly think drinking water is super important to our health.  Water affects all aspects of our health from your digestive system to your skin, it is very important and we should never neglect it.

Classy and Sassy: Being "Different"

Hey Lovelies!

I recently posted about bullying and how to deal with bullying.  But sometimes people don't directly bully you and if you just feel like you don't belong.  I know the struggle, I know what it is to feel like you are different and people around you just do not understand.

For a very long time I could not understand why my family and friends were so different from me.  I love fashion, creativity, learning, and beauty.  Everyone around me seems to think that fashion and beauty are vain.  People never seemed to understand why I loved shopping, putting on makeup, and looking into the latest fashion.  It was something that made me different and the people in my life never really encouraged me to pursue these things that I enjoyed.  So I felt very secluded and for the longest time I have not shown myself and have just hid under a "sassy" persona so that I did not have to expose myself emotionally.

That was really deep.  But anyways...

Being different is not a quality that you should be ashamed of.  I was and occasionally still don't like telling people my interests, it is something that is so personal and I feel like it is giving away a part of me.  But this is something that we should strive to change.

Having a unique quality makes you stand out.  You should not try to define yourself based on what society says is "normal" and is "average."  Life is too short to be worrying about what people think of you and it too short to be hiding yourself behind a persona that does not suit you.  Please do not make the same mistake as me and be yourself.

We all struggle with finding ourselves and knowing what our life mission is.  It is part of life and it is something that has been proven to help humans grow psychologically.

So be different! Love yourself and never hide who you really are.  Remember that I love you all, no matter what and that there are people out there among the billions of people in the world just like you.

Failure at its Finest

Hello Lovelies!

So I recently had an encounter with failure, and although I really want this blog to be about fashion, I wanted to share my story about dealing with disappointment and failure.  It is something that none of us enjoy having to encounter, but it is a large part of life.

Here is some background on what I think about failure:  I do not deal well with failure.  My expectations of myself often override my emotions and I take failure very personally.  Not everyone is so hard on themselves and have such high expectations.  But, I do.  This makes it all the more difficult to handle failure.

With that, this week I took my drivers test... twice.  What? Twice?  Yes, I failed the first time and had to retake my exam.  To say the least, I was devastated.

What I learned over the course of a few hours, astounded me!

One bad day, does not equate to a bad life.  

So the next time that you guys have something you are struggling with, something you have worked hard for, remember that it is not the end of the world.  Move on and start fresh with a whole new set of 24 hours.

Macaroon Madness ft. Keds® + Update

Hello Lovelies!

It has been a while since my last post.  But, honestly it was for good reason.  I finally got my life back in order and I am forcing myself time for things other than school and Netflix, so that I can enjoy life and enjoy being a teenager.

I wanted to share with you guys my new shoes that I just received, courtesy of Keds®.  These are amazing quality canvas shoes, at an affordable price.  What I love most about them is their versatility, these shoes can be used to dress up a very casual outfit, or dress down a more elaborate outfit.

I ordered them and they were shipped to me (with normal shipping) in three days! {that's amazing}  Not to mention, they have incredible, vintage-style packaging and the shoes were absolutely perfect, no rips, tears, or knicks.  These shoes are great gifts.  They come in all sizes {note: they run a bit small}, all colors, designs, and styles.  Some awesome lines they have are their Taylor Swift line as well as a collaboration with Kate Spade.

I was absolutely honored to work with such an amazing company and am super excited to begin styling my new shoes!

 For this look, I went with something very sporty and wearable, but still has a girly vibe to it.  This is definitely one of my new staple looks, the shoes really tie it all together.
