Puerto Rico: Day 15

Hey Lovelies!

We went to the pool the next day.  I was super happy to finally get some color back into my skin.  It was super fun to be at the pool and go into the refreshing water on such a hot summer day.  I love swimming as my exercise and I also did some water exercises to burn some calories.  BTW quick update, I started macro/calorie counting just to see how much I ate in a day, nothing serious just so that I can better handle my diet.

Super pretty pool!

Puerto Rico: Day 14

Hello Lovelies!

I send the best of wishes to all of you guys!  Today I spent the day surrounded by lots of family, young and old.  My little cousin turned ten so we had a small gathering at my grandmother's house to celebrate.  It was so much fun and took up the entire day.  The party lasted 'till about 9:30 in the night and after we had cleanup duty.  Super fun but also odd attending to so many people.

Red. White. Blue.
Sound familiar? :)

We did our nails that morning. {Marshmallow by Bettina}

I did a quick shoot for an outfit of the day and I caught this candid of my sister in the process.

Yeah we thought we were cute...

Happy Birthday!

We made a new friend that night. {sneak peak at my OOTD}

I hope you guys have had a super awesome summer!  Let me know how your fourth of July weekend went in the comments below.

Puerto Rico: Day 13

Hey Lovelies!

It's fourth of July... and I'm not doing anything special.  Yeah my grandmother, sister, and I made the executive decision to have a girls day in and spend time together.  I have some simple snaps to share with you guys while we were having fun in the room.  Enjoy!

I did my grandmother's eyebrows! They were a bit too dark, but I fixed that later.

My aunt turned out beautiful.  Her eyebrows were done using an eyeshadow versus the pencil and gel method on my grandmother.

Always remember to set aside time to be with family and spend time with the people you love.  You never know what can happen tomorrow, so enjoy these little moments.

Puerto Rico: Day 12

Hello Lovelies!

On the twelfth day of my vacation we decided not to do anything since we had just done a really draining task the day before.

I just wanted to quickly say something to you guys.  My blog is my place.  It is my creative outlet.  It is where I can express myself freely and show the world who I really am.  I am honestly so proud of sticking with it and really committing to my blog and consistently posting over the past year and a half.

Not many people follow my blog, or care much about it.  But that doesn't matter to me because I a so happy to say that I have done and created every single thing on my page.  I am so proud to say that this is completely and absolutely mine.  Soon I hope to buy a domain and get to really call it mine.  Soon I hope to tell you all that I am on track with everything.

Life throws curveballs at us all the time and I am so glad that I can share them on my blog.  To be able to go through my ups and downs on here is refreshing and awesome.

xoxo, Ana

Puerto Rico: Day 11

Hey Lovelies.

I had a great experience that I never before had done in Puerto Rico.  Visiting this amazing little park with a butterfly garden and bird watching area was a first and definitely not a last.  It is such a great tourist area to explore parts of the island and experience things directly in tune with nature.

I do warn you, this is not El Yunque.  But, it is still beautiful and a wonderful experience.  They have several different activities apart from the butterfly garden and aviary, you can go zip lining and hiking through the forest.  Of course, I was unable to do the latter two because of my elderly companions {hehe} but it was still super fun!

The entrance was already a great view, it was a great big fountain.

Of course, I took a selfie on the trans that took us up the mountain.  The view was so beautiful.

The central building was also a sight!  They have great agricultural scenery and decor.

When entering the butterfly garden the first thing you encounter is a look into the lab that harvests all of the pupae and cocoons of the monarch butterfly.

It was so magnificent to be so close to nature.  They decorated everything with such elegance and beauty, I loved it.

The aviary was just as beautiful.  It was super dun to be so close to such large birds.

A quick look at our outfits! :D

My sister and I at the aviary.

My grandmother with a gorgeous pink and white bird.

Selfie with a beautiful navy blue and yellow bird.

Finally we went down the mountain on a little train like automobile.  We got to see some amazing forestry and even a man made waterfall {pictured above}.

I know this post was a bit late but I have been a bit busy lately and whenever I'm not busy I'm spending time with family or sleeping.  {yes, I am still a typical teenager}

Puerto Rico: Day 10

Hello Lovelies!

I hope you guys are having a marvelous day and an amazing summer!  I am super excited to be back to my usual blogging standards as well as life standards.  I have yet to resolve my problems concerning the time that I get up, 6 am seems like such a hassle, but I am slowly waking up earlier and earlier each morning.  I also went to the track today and got some exercise in.  Another thing has been my diet, I'm working very hard {as difficult as it is} to eat healthy and stay away from bad carbs and chocolate. :(

Let me know if you guys have any suggestions for these daily postings in the comments below.

I started the day with a greek yogurt and a giant green apple. It was delicious and healthy.

After the track we went to Popeyes for the first time.  I ate two chicken tenders and only half the biscuit (bad carbs) and some fries (again, bad carbs).

Healthy eating for the win!  We went to the grocery store after and I bought lots of fruits and healthy alternatives.

Matching shirts, why not?
Less Selfies More Gym.

I ended the day doing some summer reading work.  These books are quite tedious and boring, but I will be finishing this one within the next two days and then I will read the last two books in the upcoming two weeks.

I know my summer is not exactly everyone's cup of tea.  Honestly, this year I cam to Puerto Rico to fix things emotionally in terms of my grandfather's death and to change my life for the better.  I want to focus on God, Family, Education, Health, and Love.

Maybe, by the end of the summer everything will be running smoothly again. ;)

Puerto Rico: Haul #1

Hello Lovelies!

My summer has been a ball of self-discovery, fun, and lots of family time.  But one of my favorite parts of summer is that I get to shop for clothes and things for school in the upcoming year.  Here in PR certain things are more expensive and costly, such as food, but other things seem to be not as expensive as in the United States, such as clothing.

I takes so much for me to find clothing that suits me.  Ever since I decided to make a style of my own and really focus on fashion, I have been unable to take full advantage due to a lack of resources.  But now I've made some advancements on my style and ever since I gave up the majority of my clothing, I have more space to include things I love and will wear.  I bought some simple, everyday things as well as some more elaborate, going-out things.

Disclaimer: Many of these items are gifts from my grandmother or aunt, otherwise I bought them with my money.  Also, the pictures aren't the best because I'm not at home so bear with me, as they are very much retouched as I tried to show the real colors and fix some of the pictures.

I know you guys have been waiting for a haul and a fashion post, so here it is!

It was a super successful day of shopping!!!

Puerto Rico: Day 8

Hello Lovelies!

I am super tired of doing lots of work to get ahead on my summer reading so that I can finish it ASAP, but I still make time for my daily posts.  Honestly, this blog is super important to me because it is a reminder of who I am and who I want to be.  Tomorrow I have asked for a day of no plans, at least for me, to catch up on all of my work {SAT Practice, Python, Blogging, Cleaning, etc.} so it won't be very exciting.

I am continuing to share my days with you guys, no matter how uneventful they may be because each day has a lesson to share, whether we realize it or not.  Today I have learned to be grateful and positive.  I woke up super upset because I overslept until 9 am.  Then I remembered to be positive and found myself in one of my favorite places: the mall.  Lastly I got a call from my mother saying my blood tests had come back almost all great except for some changes I need to make in my diet.  So overall good day today.

I spent the day with my girls at the mall, it was super fun and very productive.
{A haul will be coming up soon, don't worry.}

Honestly, I was kinda excited to be eating popcorn chicken... I hadn't had KFC in the longest!  It was really delicious and made me really happy.

Plaza Carolina is an amazing mall.  I love the stores it has and the variety it offers.  {Honestly, I'm just a sucker for malls in general}

Successful shopping day? I would say so. ;D

Lastly I ended the day with half of a cinnabon.  I wasn't able to eat all of it because soon after I got a call that I had to limit the amount of sweets I ate.  :(

It is going to be a challenge changing my diet, but it is just another obstacle life has put in my path. I will be updating you guys on how it goes, it won't be easy but what is?

xoxo, Ana
